King Of Men's Fashion Week and Ramadan Posted on 17 Jul 22:57 , 0 comments

Who says hanging out with the Kardashians wouldn't pay off? Kanye West may have emerged as the victor of Men's Fashion Week for this fall. He is known for not only being very outspoken, but also very stylish and immensely popular. His collection according to Damien Paul has had the biggest impact as an American brand and this trend is expected to continue for the designer through fall and winter. I mentioned West a few posts back as he appeared in Fresh Dressed along with several of his contemporaries, so this news should come as no surprise. I wish him all the success and can't wait to see what he has in store for us for 2016.

There's spring/summer fashion, fall/winter collections so the next logical progression would be Ramadan fashion, right? Well it does depend on who you talk to. Muslim fashion is well-established outside of the western world. According to FortuneMuslims spent $266 billion on clothing and footwear in 2013. Not only is that a lot of money, but it signals the growing popularity of Islam around the world, particularly among the youth population. A handful of American and European designers have already built designer collections around Ramadan, but the real opportunity (and challenge) lies in expanding their lines to include the remaining months in the year. I'll definitely be interested, as this trend grows and continues, to see how Muslim fashion will begin to influence western fashion. I guess we'll have to stay tuned.
