Most of the time I find it very challenging to talk about my mother at length because I miss her very much. She was not only the sweetest person, she loved and devoted herself to her husband and six children. My mother was also a very successful business woman - she operated a family day care for over 20 years, still managed to cook dinner for us every night and was literally always there. 

Before she married she attended modeling school. Although she never became a professional model, her excellent taste and natural beauty came through in everything she wore throughout her life. She passed her modeling expertise on to my oldest brother, who has appeared in print ads and a sprinkling of television shows over the years. I definitely took on her love of fashion and her penchant for creativity, along with my two sisters.
